A Divine Mercy Monument was built at atop of the hill in Kibungsod, Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental. Inaugurated and blessed last December of 2018.
Divine Mercy is a Roman Catholic devotion to Jesus Christ, which is associated from Jesus’ apparitions to Saint Faustina Kowalska, the mother of the Divine Mercy devotion. The venerated image with rays symbolizes as blood of Jesus that represents the Life of Souls (red), and water for the white or pale.
The building of the monument is initiated by the Servant Leaders of Santa Faustina Divine Mercy Devotees or SFDMD – Brother Jun Mendoza and Sister Lilia Mendoza. With help from family and friends, and was financially supported by Lijun Mendoza – the son of Jun and Lilia, the monument was inaugurated last December of 2018.
The Mendoza couples have served the community for almost 30 years and what better way to return the blessings that they received from the Heavenly Father is through service and love for family. The simple monument is built for the devotees and tourists to have a moment in prayer or to have a spiritual vacation as the Holy Week happens on the 3rd week of April.
Whenever you pass by at Magsaysay, visit the Divine Mercy Monument to have spiritual guidance and ask for Lord’s mercy to have a life well lived.
